Conversion of redundant barns into luxury homes

Whitehouse Farm

The site extends across 0.30 hectares of grass land in a conservation area. One of the barns is Grade 2 Listed, and naturally it was crucial to maintain the heritage aspect in the proposal. Low impact design with modest architectural intervention were key to the renovations, in order to provide an aesthetically pleasing solution to the re-use of these buildings.

Designed to high standard details and materials, with traditional brickwork, reclaimed masonry and tiling to balance the historic with the contemporary, the new houses boast open plan layouts, with vaulted ceilings to expose the original timber frame.
